Recently I have been receiving emails for what seem like miracle products. One in particular advertising a new VOIP Phone system that will save you a fortune. VOIP phone systems are telephone systems that use the internet and are probably the future of telephones. There are some very reputable dealers out there so not all emails about this are bogus.
However in this case it is. The hyperlink in the email actually takes you to a website that has nothing to do with the subject and is either trying to get you to buy something else or to put malware.
So how do you know? Well here are some things to look out for.
It is not always easy to spot and some of these emails are very professionally put together. So if, when you click a link, a webpage opens that you were not expecting, close it immediately and then run a virus scan.
